Las Vegas - Grand Canyon 2009

We went for a long weekend in Las Vegas and stayed at my favorite hotel, The Bellagio. Our second day there we took a sunset hilocopter flight to the grand canyon. This took us over the Hoover Dam. We landed in the canyon for champagne and snacks. We flew back at sunset arriving in Las Vegas after dark. The pilot got permission to overfly the strip.

  • We fly under The Grand Canyon Skywalk, a tourist attraction near the Colorado River. USGS topographic maps show the elevation of the Skywalk as 4,770 ft.
