Bahamas 2012
The Bahamas hasn't been the same since. The Ash Perry Intrepid Dive Group came together on an otherwise unsuspecting resort destination. We flew into Nassau, Bahamas, and suffered the inappropriate 1-2 hours it takes to clear immigration/customs. We loaded into the short bus and traveled cross island to Freeport. From the docksite of the AquaCat we could see the infamous resort Atlantis. We piled our gear onto the Aquacat and met the crew.... Mia, Ian, Jasmine, Lauren, Kelly, Captain Mark, First Mate Jeff... the other crew names and engineers elude me. After the typical first night briefing and setting up our gear, we set out at dawn for our adventure. We arrived first in the Exuma Cays and moved to Eleuthera Island for the majority of our dives. We returned to the Exuma Cays on the last day to dive the Washing Machine and the Blue Hole. The photos in this gallery are in chronological order. There are no photos from the Washing Machine where my quest to find the Red Tipped Sea Goddess was at long last fulfilled. There were Lionfish at every divesite; not so many but always big fat ones, and the reef in general was covered with algae. A bit sad overall....
